VISION
It is the firm's vision to empower suitably qualified Black lawyers to initially share in the firm's equity and ultimately to run the practice whilst maintaining a high degree of integrity and professionalism.

MISSION
To achieve an ongoing up-skilling of existing paralegal staff of previously disadvantaged groups through training and skills development.

To maximize the:

  • use of BEE service providers

  • briefing of BEE agents

  • briefing of advocates from previously disadvantaged backgrounds.

MANAGEMENT COMMITMENT
The firm has already commenced a multi-dimensional approach and has created incremental opportunities. Our non-legal staff have received in-house and accredited training to improve their skills.
The firm participates in the Black Lawyer's Association's tutoring program whereby law students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds receive legal training during university holidays.The firm is committed to the changing face of the legal profession and the partners will be responsible for the implementation of this policy.

OBJECTIVES
In order to achieve the firm's vision as set out above the firm has the following objectives:

  • to create a change in mind set amongst the legal and non legal staff through a process of induction and change management opportunities.

  • to seek out in collaboration with tertiary institutions and existing Black firms suitable Black candidate attorneys.

  • to train a suitable candidate / candidates in the ethos of the firm and the requirements of the profession.

  • to create awareness amongst colleagues in the profession and our suppliers of the need to support BEE.

  • to enter into equity agreements with suitable Black partners to achieve the vision.
